Learn to Play Baccarat

With little to do every round other than betting on a tie, the dealers hand or players hand, baccarat is simple to enjoy. All events in the game are based on a predetermined set of game rules, with no choices made by the player or banker.

A player can put money on a tie, on the dealers hand or the players hand, the winning hand is the one closest to a total of 9 as possible.
A hand can not “bust” as in Blackjack. Baccarat is played modulo 10, if a total goes higher than ten you subtract 10 from the count until the result is between 0 and 9.

The player first chooses somewhere to lay a wager, then after bets are finished everybody is dealt 2 cards to begin with.

If either hand has a hand total of eight or nine it is called a “Natural”, that hand wins and the hand is ended. Should each hand have 8 or 9, that is a draw.

Provided neither the dealer or player is dealt a ‘natural’, then these rules determine what occurs next:

The players hand is dealt with first.

The Players Hand Is: The Dealers Hand Is:
0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Draw a third card
6, 7 Stay

After the players turn, the bankers hand receives an addional card (or not) based on the players draw:

The Players Hand Is:
0, 1, 2 Anything Takes a card
3 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 Draw a card
8 Stay
9 Stays
4 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 Draws a card
0, 1, 8 or 9 Stays
5 5, 6 or 7 Draws a card
0, 1, 2, 3, 8 or 9 Stay
4 Draw a card
6 6 or 7 Draws a card
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 or 9 No further cards
7 Anything Stays

When every one of the cards has been dealt out, the two hands are compared and the hand with the value closer to 9 wins.
